Choosing what to do after GCSEs can be difficult. Talk through your options with teachers, parents or carers, friends, and careers services.

- If you're worried about your applications, the best place to start is by talking to a teacher or tutor at school.
- Talk about your ideas with people who know you well – your parents or carers, family and friends – as it can be helpful to get another view when thinking about your choices.
- Your school may have specialist careers staff to advise you on your options. Ask your teacher or tutor who to speak to.
- You can contact the National Careers Service and speak to one of their advisers on 0800 100 900 (they’ll call you back if you’re using a mobile so it's free) or use their Webchat service.
- In Scotland My World of Work has info about careers and course choices as well as online tools. My World of Work for parents offers advice and guidance for parents.
- In Northern Ireland nidirect Careers Service has lots of useful information about education and training options, careers and local careers and support services, or you could speak to an adviser on 0300 200 7820.
- In Wales, Careers Wales provides a range of information about careers, education and training courses, as well as a Learning and Careers Advice telephone helpline 0800 028 4844.
