We’re ranked 6th in the UK for Student Life according to the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2022. The awards are based on reviews from university students around the UK.  

If you want to try something new or find friends with the same interests as you, our fantastic array of student union societies and athletic union sports clubs have you covered. We have plenty of activities and amenities to keep you busy and enjoy student life.

Leeds is bursting with life; with something for everyone, and it’s been given the prestigious Purple Flag status for the fifth year running. The award is in recognition for providing a vibrant and diverse mix of dining, entertainment and culture while promoting the safety and wellbeing of visitors and local residents.

Campus and facilities

Our City Campus is very central and spread over several buildings around Woodhouse Lane. We are just a few minutes walk from the main shopping centres, the First Direct Arena and Hyde Park.

Headingley is just three miles outside the centre of Leeds. Our Headingley campus is located within 100 acres of parkland, a perfect contrast to the bustling city, so if it is a nice day you can get out and stretch your legs between lectures.

We offer a free inter-campus bus, making it easy to travel between both campuses.

As a dynamic modern university, we’re constantly growing and developing. We ranked 4th in the UK for Facilities (Whatuni Awards, 2022). We’ve built some of the most iconic buildings in Leeds, and our facilities, learning resources and teaching communities give you everything you need to succeed.

    Hi! I'm Abi, Events Management student. I am currently on my placement year in industry and loving the experience ive been getting. I lived in halls first year and a student house second year, lived back at home during my placement and moving back into a student house for final year. I am a very active, 'outdoorsy' person who likes to be on the go, currently bodybuilding and I have come from a farming/equestrian background, adjusting to city life, using public transport to get around! I have enjoyed nights out in the city of Leeds and days finding activities to do. Loving Leeds Beckett and the city :)
