Accommodation? It’s more than just a roof. It’s the people you live with, the vibe, the place. It’s home, and it’s yours. We’ve got five halls of residence – great places to work, relax, socialise. We’ve got local private renters – flats and houses. An accreditation scheme (SASSH) to keep you safe. And a dedicated accommodation service, to solve all your problems.

I am currently studying an MA in Visual Communications to broaden my employment opportunities, to develop a wider skillset, and familiarise myself with the facilities available. I am currently a student ambassador for the university, course representative for my studies, artist photographer and I work part-time in retail on my days off. I have a rather busy social life and go to a social once a week with the Spirit of Solent society! They are an amazing society and everyone is extremely friendly. I spend the rest of my time playing pool or watching the footie with the boys. please feel free to ask any questions about accommodation as I have visited most of them and lived in David Moxon for my first year. I have good knowledge of the city and things to do aswell. Outside of university, I train at the gym four days a week alongside reading a lot of nutrition and healthy eating books so I can be healthier for longer. I also read a lot of general knowledge books outside of my studies on subjects such as finance and psychology as I believe they will aid me with people skills and general life skills. Henry
Solent UniversityMSc Applied AI and Data ScienceHello I'm Henry and I'm a postgraduate student. Transitioning from a legal background, I initially harboured some concerns about venturing into the realm of Information Technology, an area I've long desired to explore. Gratefully, Solent University has been instrumental in providing me with the chance to actualize this aspiration through their MSc Applied AI and Data Science program. What sets this program apart is its accessibility, designed in a manner that even students without prior IT experience can readily comprehend and engage with the material. I am genuinely thrilled about the prospects this educational journey holds for me. The program not only aligns with my passion for IT but also sparks a profound excitement for a future career in the industry, particularly as a machine learning engineer. Solent's commitment to making this transition accessible and comprehensible has not only eased my apprehensions but also ignited my enthusiasm for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead in the IT field. I hope to start up on my own as a freelance Social Media Manager. But until I do so, I hope to work on some film sets and get a feel of the busy media industry. Alongside my studies, I attend the Solent's Scuba Diving Society, where I have met new friends and joined a wonderful community. I love going to the Showcase Cinema de Lux in Southampton, its amazing! As well as having many movie nights in after a home cooked meal - on a budget of course (student life!). Jay

Solent UniversityBSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise TherapyHi my name is Izzie! I am currently in my first year of university at Solent and I am studying Sports and Exercise Therapy. I am eager to learn more about my course each day and advance my knowledge! I previously finished my A levels and wanted to pursue a career in the sports. I love playing hockey and during sixth form I played for my school team and also played for my home town, therefore I decided to carry on playing and now play for the Women's Hockey team here at Solent. It's so interesting to see a different dynamic of playing depending on what teams you are playing for. Outside of sports, I love baking as well as going for long walks in the countryside, to help me relax when I might be feeling stressed. Ellie
